History

Originally named Hotel du Nord in 1968, the hotel was founded by Lorenz Sørensen and designed by the architect Hougaard Nielsen. Through the years the hotel has continuously undergone renovations and expansions and has been renamed.

In 2005 the hotel was taken over by the international hotel chain, Helnan International Hotels, founded by its President Enan Galaly. The hotel was renamed Helnan Marina Hotel, due to its location adjacent to Grenaa Marina.
The hotel has been refurbished and is now a first class international hotel.
